The act has many facets from different housing programs but most importantly the fair housing portion of the act. Fair housing impacts the nation as far as discrimination is concerned. During the 1960’s there was much discrimination and, included under the auspices of the HUD development act, the fair housing act was signed into law protecting those most at risk of discrimination.
This seminar will give you a better understanding of the various programs of HUD and how they may impact you on a day to day basis. This includes housing programs, various loan products that are available and most importantly the fair housing protections concerning race, color, national origin, familial status, disability, religion and sex. Almost everyone is impacted in some way by one or more of HUD’s programs.
Make students more aware of the many items involved in the act.
