Hopefully someone has come up against this, my employers have implemented a jewellery policy; its a bit over the top but they are keen on enforcing it.
As is the tendency with anything unpopular, folk are pushing against it. One issue is with watches, in practice we're pretty much banned from wearing them unless they are equipped with a 'weak link', what a weak link is, or how to go about getting one fitted is a mystery though.
I have managed to find reference to a breakaway pin in a small reddit thread here https://www.reddit.com/r/answers/comments/3vfgyp/what_is_a_breakawa...
Though I've had no joy actually tracking down where to get hold of breakaway pins. I did have a look at the watch in the thread, its not available in the UK and isn't the most ideal solution I can put forward "hey just go buy a new watch..."
Has anyone had experience of this? I would have thought it would be a common thing for folk working with heavy machinery.
It should be said, there is nothing stopping our guys just putting they're watch in their boiler suit pockets, pretty much the advice I give them. It would be nice to put the weak link question to bed though.
