No matter how attention-grabbing a video is, that only works the first few times you run it. After a few times, people know the punchlines to all the jokes, the resolution to all the suspense, etc... and tune it out.
I think the key is to have training tailored to the individual and involve them in the presentation. I've had a couple that presented material then asked questions based on the presentation. A correct answer moved you on to the next segment, incorrect answers took you to additional information (not just a replay of the original).
That's an interesting tactic. Also with the ease of creating videos these days, you could even film one at your own workplace...then it might be interesting to find ways to update it by involving employees in the process.
