Recently, while scrolling through my Twitter, I came across this tweet that made me stop and think. There are workplace safety laws that make first-aid kits and other medical necessities compulsory in every organization. But, what about mental health? We do. We have the American Disabilities Act. Mental Illness is a disability and protects employees from discrimination when the employ can show that they qualify. Which then brings up another issue, the stigma of being known to have a mental illness. An organization that works to help individuals with mental illness is NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
