I have a question regarding UL testing procedures used to rate dry chemical extinguishers. What testing protocols does Underwriters Laboratory use to determine portable dry chemical extinguisher ratings?

UL Listed extinguishers can be marketed anywhere in the United States and Canada based on their proven ability to extinguish specific classes of fires. UL lists certified products and components in UL product directories, referenced by authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) to verify that individual facilities have the appropriate fire extinguishing ratings.
