4 eco-friendly safety essentials to help save the world

The health and safety sector and the green sector now thankfully meet with a selection of products that are effective in preventing harm to workers, while also benefitting the environment. Such developments are important factors in the modern workplace, which wants to keep employees safe and now also wants to reduce its carbon footprint and do its bit for the planet.

Businesses have been making strides in the direction of environmentalism for some time now with companies like Eco2Greetings and Ecardshack providing virtual greetings cards rather than paper cards, saving tons of carbon every year, and reducing paper use in business is a great way to make an impact. But you can also make a difference by choosing eco-friendly products, and thankfully that is now true in the world of health and safety too. Here are five essential safety items that can help you become greener at work:

1) Safety clothing

There are numerous brands making safety clothing for people who require workwear to stay safe and comfortable, and a number of these use only natural materials that can - when no longer wearable - be recycled.

2) Cleaning products

A range of cleaning products are vital to keep a workplace sanitary and safe, especially in the food service industry. There are now many ranges of cleaning products that are effective and also not harmful to the environment.

3) Safety signs

Yes even safety signs can be environmentally friendly. Several providers of signs for construction, industrial and other workplaces now offer signs that are made of more than 50% recyclable materials, rather than the plastic signs that, once discarded, will probably end up in landfill sites.

4) Safety glasses

Safety glasses are of course a must in plenty of workplaces, and you can now order eco-friendly glasses, made using biocarbon and just as good as less green alternatives.

If you want your business to be greener there are plenty of things you can do, from cutting down on paper use to doing a little bit of research and ordering products that are beneficial to the environment. It’s a simple way to improve and protect our planet and to help your business become more progressive at the same time. Consider your health and safety needs and whether your choices can have a positive impact for the future.

Disgusting food, salmonella, and terrible illness all lurk around the…See More
