A Safety consultant is the person who gives advices and aides the employees with respect to health and safety of both small and large size such as manufacturing factories, engineering, construction, mining and so on

Duties OF A SAFETY CONSULTANT

They compose and lead health and safety program at working environment in order to create awareness among the employees. It includes planning and implementing and monitored throughout the execution    

The objective of this sort of program is to minimize the various incidents and mishaps happen at work environment.

Safety consultant are supposed to

  • Inspect the facilities available in working environment
  • Identify the current health and safety hazards
  • Do required rectifications
  • Establish effective steps to evict injuries, near misses and mishaps
  • Keep updated in recent updated health and safety standards, measures and legislatives by attending any meetings, trainings or reading newsletters etc.

Steps to be taken in order to become a safety consultant

There exist four types of Safety Consultants.  

Everybody is recognized by means of some difficult level of job allocated to them, their experience, how do they respond to that, their responsibility on given job

The basic you should have is a Bachelor’s degree either in Mechanical engineering / Industrial engineering / safety engineering / civil engineering or any other relevant degree. Additional to this, you are supposed to possess some extra qualification in occupational health and safety in to become a health and safety consultant
