I have a question regarding UL testing procedures used to rate dry chemical extinguishers. What testing protocols does Underwriters Laboratory use to determine portable dry chemical extinguisher ratings?

Fire extinguishers
The integrity of the UL Mark assures manufacturers that their fire extinguishers, as well as fire extinguisher components and agents, meet the highest standards for safety and performance across North America. UL Listed extinguishers can be marketed anywhere in the United States and Canada based on their proven ability to extinguish specific classes of fires. UL lists certified products and components in UL product directories, referenced by authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) to verify that individual facilities have the appropriate fire extinguishing ratings.

With more than 100 years of fire testing and certification expertise, UL is a leading resource on fire safety. Alarm system components bearing the UL Mark meet all applicable safety standards and have proven to perform together as a system. UL Listed fire alarm equipment is also covered by UL's Follow-Up Services program. Through periodic audits, UL's audit staff verifies that the equipment installed meets applicable codes and standards and is used for the purpose for which it was Listed.

Test Standards
UL tests to the current editions of the following Standards:

ANSI/UL 8, CAN/ULC-S554, Water-Based Agent Fire Extinguishers
ANSI/UL 154, CAN/ULC-S503, Carbon Dioxide Fire Extinguishers
ANSI/UL 299, CAN/ULC-S504, Dry Chemical Fire Extinguishers
ANSI/UL 626, CAN/ULC-S507, Water Fire Extinguishers
ANSI/UL 2129, CAN/ULC-S566, Halocarbon Clean Agent Extinguishers
Fire Performance Test Standards:
ANSI/UL 711, CAN/ULC-S508, Rating and Fire Testing of Fire Extinguishers
Installation and Maintenance Standard:
NFPA 10, Standard for Installing and Maintaining Portable Fire Extinguishers
In particular, I am curious as to the specific tests that UL conducts on Dry Chemical Fire Extinguishers, eg. actual testing protocols.

At a simple level, it can be thought of as a smaller version of programing in that once certain tasks are assigned to it, it carries them out.The main function of a macro is to work within a program such as MS Excel and automate tasks that need to be performed over and…See More
