Fleet vehicle inspection system to help fleet maintenance programs

Fleet Vehicle Inspection Systems - New from Good to Go Safety

Driving is one of the most hazardous working activities, with 220 serious injuries and 20 deaths every week involving people at work on the road.

Vehicle accidents can also be responsible for one of the most costly losses to a business. The claims costs associated with repairs, injuries and potential loss of human life are high with insurance rates and operations affected for years as a result.

Good to Go Safety can now offer a fleet vehicle safety checklist, designed to encourage drivers to carry out essential pre-use checks of their vehicle prior to a journey. Frequent inspections can help to ensure the safety of the vehicle and reduce maintenance costs. The introduction of a systematic and effective programme such as this allows fleet managers to receive a signed and dated checklist which can be used as evidence of an active and up-to-date maintenance programme in the event of an accident.

Basic checks covered in the checklist include the engine department for oil, screen wash, battery etc; whilst lights, mirrors, tyres and documentation are amongst the various external checks.

Employers are bound by a legal duty of care to ensure the safety of staff whilst they work. They owe the same duty of care under health and safety law to staff who drive their own vehicles for work as they do to employees who drive company owned, leased or hired vehicles.

Good to Go Safety helps employers meet their legal duty of care to ensure the safety of staff whilst they work, in accordance with various separate laws which govern occupational driving.
  • Helps compliance with The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, PUWER & The Road Traffic Act 1998

  • Encourages regular pre-drive safety checks in line with best practice guidelines by ROSPA and the DfT.

  • Provides documented evidence of fleet safety policies, as required if you run a fleet and employ 5 or more staff.

  • In the event of an accident, copies of all completed checklists can provide valuable evidence of the vehicles condition and maintenance program.

The new check book from Good to Go Safety provides 25 individual checklists which should be completed by the driver before he starts his journey, a duplicate NCR copy of the checklist is automatically created which can be kept by the fleet manager as part of their fleet management programme. This latest addition to the range provides a simple, effective and affordable solution to a company's duty of care for fleet maintenance.

Failure to carry out their duty of care could lead to criminal prosecutions against employers under the Corporate Manslaughter Act 2008 if an employee dies in a work-related road-traffic accident.

June 20, 2018 from 1pm to 2pm
ANSI/ASQ Z1.9 (formerly MIL STD 414) uses sample statistics to determine whether a production lot, or incoming lot, should be accepted or rejected. These statistics also allow estimation of the nonconforming fraction at each specification limit. Attendees will learn how to define a sample plan on the basis of (1) the lot size, (2) the inspection level, and (3) the acceptable quality limit (AQL).ANSI/ASQ Z1.9 can be used for single specification limits, two-sided specification limits, and even…See More
